About Everyday Charlie

A new musical for young performers! Originally created by Michael Alan Johnson with original music by Michael Alan Johnson, Summer Dregs & Paul Smallman and script by Julie Drexler Johnson & Haley Tomsheck.

Everyday Charlie tells the story of Charlie, a 5th grader who has to change schools in the middle of the school year. One day, Charlie challenges Jared, the leader of the kickball team, to a kickoff. Things take a sudden turn when the only kickball gets lost over the schoolyard fence. Will Charlie and his new friends from the Explorer’s Club be able to save recess together?

This show is a 60-minute one-act (with an optional intermission) and has 8 lead characters. All characters’ genders can be changed based off of casting and the show has flexible ensemble options. Great for young performers, summer camp productions and more!
